HERITAGE is a non-profit organization founded in 1976 by Mr. Clarence Jones, a well respected educator and musician in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.The Negro Spiritual is an art form that we have shared with local, national, and international audiences. Over the last 30 years, we have performed in Chicago IL., Philadelphia and Pittsburg ,PA, Atlanta GA, Hampton VA., various venues in Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Bastrop, Lafayette, Lake Charles, New Orleans, Eunice La, New Iberia, and Hemminbaugh in St. Francisville, LA, Mexico City, Mexico, Paris France, The American Church in Paris, In England and performed for Pope John Paul II. "No place or audience has been too large or small, too near or far for us to perform".Since 1991, on the first Saturday in February our signature event has been our Annual Festival of Negro Spirituals at which local churches, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU's), various Community choirs have participated. This event has been hosted at Mt. Zion First Baptist Church in Baton Rouge Louisiana..
